Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing will be hosting a Vintage Racing Festival at
Memorial Park in Manitou Springs on Saturday, July 18th the day before the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race. All vintage racing cars and motorcycles
in this year's hill climb are invited and are encouraged to display. We are looking for folks to display their vintage cars and motorcycles in either
"racing" or "show" categories. Here is a link to the flyer and entry form for the event:

If you have an older hill climb car or bike to display we REALLY want to see you there! That includes you folks that raced your vintage cars on
the hill climb recently but couldn't make it this year.
We will also have an RMVR display tent at the festival. As the event hosts we will be really busy and NEED HELP (for you corner workers, I've got
both hands patting my head, typing with my toes here...
). We will need assistance in unloading and parking vehicals, manning the RMVR tent, and hopefully selling RMVR merchandise. If you can
assist please-PLEASE-PLEASE let us know by emailing hillclimb@rmvr.com. This will give everyone good practice for the HPR party in August. Please let me know if you have any

I wanted to bump this one up again. We are still looking for lots participants and help for this event. As an RMVR showcase event we really need our members to
be part of it to make it successful. Event flyers have been posted all over Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City. According to one of the "Locals"
that I spoke to yesterday there is quite a buzz around town about the event. There are no other hill climb related activities planned for the day before the
race, so we will have the spotlight to ourselves. Please be there is you can. We need you.

As of Thursday morning we have only received 9 entries - I'm hugely disappointed, but with the extended deadline maybe we can get many more.
We had more RMVR entries than this for every car show we attended last year. There have been a few additional email and verbal commitments, but the entry forms haven't arrived yet. Also, I have had one non RMVR member volunteer to help, and that's about it. |

I may have to check with the local authorities regarding some types of "beverages".
There may be limits regarding what is allowed in the city park. Now, if we had 60+ show cars signed up and had a plus side budget, there might be room for RMVR participant "incentives"... We did enlist a local cheerleading squad to run a water and soft drink booth as a fund raiser for their group. We will have the Budweiser Clydesdale team at the show, but I don't know if they'll be hauling anything for us on the beer wagon. The City of Manitou Springs has been incredibly supportive, and we are expecting quite a turnout for the event.
