Formula Ford Stuff

Got a call yesterday from fellow who has a whole "trailer load" of old FF stuff. Unfortunately, few details on what all he has. Apparently this is old FF items left over from the old days when Steve Wolf was doing FFs for schools and rentald out at Second Creek. Apparently is a collection of old bodies, wheels, bell housings (adapters?), heads, and suspension bits. Details on years and which marque weren't known.

Looking for a little help. I am in the middle of a FF restoration/project. I am almost complete with getting all of the suspension pcs afixed to the chassis and am hoping to have the car on the ground in the next couple of weeks. My intent is to get the car set up with basic alignement setting before I move on the the next phase to insure all the bits and pcs are correct and am hoping I do not need any further fabrication or modification. Winklemann steel wheels

Bob Durham (ex-RMVR racer) called and has 10 steel wheels left over from when he and Martha raced a couple of Winks (15 years ago). We assume they are for the Winks, but don't know the bolt pattern size off hand. Call if you'd like to talk to him about them. 303-674-7282. . New Honda Engine approved by SCCA for FF

Don't know if you've been following this, but it's now offficial. SCCA has approved an alternate Honda engine for FF.

I'm giving some thought to continuing on from Hastings to run at Watkins Glen with SVRA the following weekend (11-13th) and then New Jersey after that with VRG (18-20th) and would prefer to have another car along to share travel expenses. I'll do the driving if you want to arrive & drive. I can take another FF or FV or perhaps a smallish production car.

Anyone interested?

Hewland Adapter??

Let's see, built a new motor, re-cased the Hewland, bought a Hewland adapter and loaded the assembled mess into the car today. The starter holes in the new adapter are clocked just differently enough that the starter won't clear the shift linkage. Tilton won't fit, and I'm not gonna use a Lucas. What I need is a correct Hewland adapter and I need it REALLY quickly. Anyone got one?

Tire mounting -- Who do you trust?

Last year I took the easy path, had Discount Tire mount the slicks on my Lotus wheels. Dang, they tried to be careful but banged them up, and I'm not doing THAT again. Heart failure.

I think I've asked this before but can't find the answer, who do you trust to mount tires? Is there is a special machine that can handle 13" X 12" tires/wheels ? I know these can be hard to work with.

Looking for Formcar

I am looking to see if a Formcar that I had and x-crossed in the mid 70's around the Denver area, I do not have the vin from the car when I sold
it I think it went to Colo. Springs. It was painted dark blue with a yellow strip that started on the hood and split at the cockpit and down the sides
with A K R on the side at rear of cockpit on each side from there on it was all stock as built. The only thing it had micky mouse ears for cool air intake above the engine.

Cracked an upright

Looks like I cracked the right front suspension upright (vertical link) on my Merlyn. Anyone have one they're willing to part with or know where I can get one? I believe this is a Spitifre/GT6 part.
