Fans took a double take when the 'lolly pop man' spotted handing tires over the wall for the #69 Speed Source Mazda Team, at the Grand Am Utah 250, was recognized as none other, than former RMVR President, Roger Hively. It was reported that, when Hively was asked to step in on the #69 crew, by team driver, Nick Ham, Roger replied, "Are you kidding me?!!" Fans speculate that the first place finish of #69 in the final two laps of the race was no coincidence.

just got a call from Paul Malcomb. His said that Reta (his mom/Harvey's wife) died Monday afternoon there in WV. He wanted me to pass along the website/info so that friends could post to the funeral homes website/guestbook for Reta (really more for Harvey so he'd know his friends here hadn't forgotten him).

Longtime RMVR member, Harry Mathews, will be inducted into the Colorado Motorsports Hall of Fame on March 25th, 2009. Most of you know Harry only through the vintage racing scene. His contributions, not only locally, but throughout the U.S. have been significant to say the least. But his ties to vintage racing are a tip of the iceberg regarding his relevance to the local motorsports community. I for one think this is pretty darn cool and am really proud that this honor is being bestowed upon...

The car was sold in early December to a gentleman named Jim Roth.
Jim lies in the LA area & works for Northrupp Grumman & designs payloads
for military satellites.

Walt Hane heart surgery

Bill,

This is Walt's daughter, Barb. He had his open heart surgery this last Wednesday to replace his valve. The surgery lasted 6 hours and went well. He has been in Coronary Care Unit at Lutheran hospital ever since. I will add you to the surgery update list. I have been sending out updates on dad's status every night.

Pat Hogan returned from the Kohler International Challenge at Road America with three new awards for his trophy case -- two for his beautifully restored Lola T-70 and the prestigious Denny Hulme Vintage Spirit Award. Helga Hall Succumbs To ALS
